Companies are hoarding data now. And good for them, because, well…it’s f*cking everywhere. And hidden amongst and in between the zettabytes of data sitting in cold storage (and probably some old newspapers and a few dead cats) there’s an incredible amount of insight into our world. In this episode we’re joined by Alex Rinke, CEO of Celonis, and Chris Olsen, Drive Capital, to discuss keeping ourselves delightfully entertained with all this…data.
OPERATOR Alex Rinke | CEO, Celonis
Alex is CEO of Celonis; which he launched with 2 other friends in 2011 at the age of 22. Celonis is a hi-tech data mining company that uses software and artificial intelligence to monitor the performance of businesses, to help them become more efficient and work better. In very simple terms, Celonis's software will monitor a company's computer system, and find out things such as which employees are being unproductive, which suppliers are too slow, and which production processes could be streamlined, it then suggests solutions. Not long after launching the platform, Celonis struck deals with companies such as Siemens, Zalando- the German e-commerce leader and BMW.
Alexander is also an active early stage technology investor and has helped found other enterprise software companies such as Testbirds and Talentry. Even at the age of 14, Alexander showed he was an entrepreneur at heart as he founded his first company, a tuition agency. Alexander was named on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2017 and holds a BSc degree in Mathematics from the Technical University Munich.
